It?s no news that globally, fashion is celebrated in September but here in Africa, October is when we most look forward to seeing homegrown designers and local creatives, from all across the continent, showcase their latest collections on the runway; and also where we get the chance to celebrate their growth, creativity and evolution through the years.

We chat with Gambian fashion designer, Yawa Conateh on the growing fashion scene in the West African country and her contributions to the evolving industry. We also spotlight Akosua Afriyie-Kumi, the Ghanaian ethical handbag designer and Nigeria?s Akudo Iheakanwa, creative director of sustainable label, SHEKUDO – both incredibly talented, inspiring creators.
